On The Moors

“We bought our first Motorhome in the early 80’s a CI on a Bedford CF, upgraded a few years later with a self-build coach built (featured in Motorcaravan Monthly) which was sold 150,000 miles later after trips round the coast of Ireland, Leningrad, Poland and the Czech Republic. We upgraded to a second hand A class 10 years ago and continued to explore closer to home. Finally, last month we decided to treat ourselves to a new Motorhome to see us throughout our retirement. After extensive research we decided the ideal van for us was the T-Line 590.
Short enough to fit in a parking space, yet still managing to include all the comfort, facilities and internal space of a much bigger van due to the electric drop down bed.
My sport is Orienteering and I travel all over the country to compete. After a local try out to Morton in Marsh, our second trip, in the new motorhome, Easter Weekend, took us to the North York Moors for the J.K International Orienteering festival in Wass forest. The van performed well on the motorway and took Sutton Bank in it’s stride. Then on Monday we headed for the relay races just South of Halifax. We stayed at Caravan Club Certified Location, Dearne Head Farm. I had the central heating set to switch on at 6.30 as I was running leg 1. Rising all snug and warm at 7.00. I opened the blinds to see nothing! Check the photo. The Traction Plus was a godsend and worked fine so just after the photo was taken we were off to the competition.
Successful first trip.”
